Supporting deaf performers and artists

When deaf artists and performers sign up to Edinburgh Deaf Festival, our dedicated team will be on hand to support you every step of the way. You will have full access to our venue services, a venue manager and box office service, marketing and technical support.

Registering with the Fringe

Edinburgh Deaf Festival will run alongside the Fringe each year, giving deaf performers the same level playing field as hearing peers. There are so many benefits to being part of the Fringe, which offers great opportunities to all performers to access arts industry services, awards, and reviewers, to name a few. By registering with Edinburgh Deaf Festival, we will give all performers the opportunity to choose whether they want to be part of the Fringe official programme or only entry as part of the Edinburgh Deaf Festival.

What’s included when you sign up to Edinburgh Deaf Festival?

  • Your timeslot within our programme
  • Sales via our box office system
  • The chance to be part of the Fringe programme
  • Press and marketing support
  • Technical support
  • Basic technical equipment
  • Shared dressing rooms and (some) storage
  • Interpreting costs support for all deaf performers.

Marketing and press

Our in-house marketing team will heavily promote the Edinburgh Deaf Festival across various channels to increase visitors. Performers are responsible for promoting their own show, and Deaf Action’s inhouse marketing team will be happy to support this, as well as assisting with marketing campaign support and advice.
